Best MCP server hosting
platforms in 2026.

Six ways to host an MCP server, from managed MCP hosting to the clouds you may already use, compared on what it takes to put one in front of Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.

Glxymesh makes one of these platforms. Each is described from its own docs and pricing pages, linked in its section, as of 14 October 2026. If something has changed, tell us at support@glxymesh.com.

How we compared

A remote MCP server has to do more than answer tool calls. It needs a public HTTPS endpoint, sign-in for the AI clients that connect, a safe place for the API keys its tools use, and a way to ship changes. We looked at each platform on five things:

  • Languages: what you can write the server or its tools in.
  • Client sign-in: whether OAuth 2.1 for remote MCP clients comes built in, or you connect or build it.
  • API keys: where the keys your tools use are kept, and who can see them.
  • Deploys: how a change goes live and how you take it back.
  • Price: what it costs to start, and whether prices are published.

We did not benchmark latency or uptime. Everything here comes from each platform's public documentation and pricing, not from private tests.

GlxymeshOURS

Managed MCP server hosting

Glxymesh hosts MCP servers you write yourself. A project is one MCP server: each tool is a tool.yml, plus one run function in Go, TypeScript or Python when it needs code. gxmesh push builds it, runs its tests, deploys it to the project's own AWS Lambda and serves every tool from one authenticated endpoint.

STRENGTHS

  • AI clients sign in with OAuth 2.1 and dynamic client registration, with no auth code to write
  • API keys are encrypted per project and added to outbound requests by an egress gateway, so tool code and AI clients never hold them
  • A tool reaches only the hosts it lists, and a person approves each new host or key
  • Tools that only call an API are a few lines of YAML
  • Every call is recorded in the console with its outcome and timing

TRADE-OFFS

  • The Free plan is small: $1 of usage a month, 256 MB and 10 seconds per call
  • A call can run for at most 60 seconds, so long-running jobs belong elsewhere
  • Code runs on AWS Lambda, not at the edge
  • No catalogue of ready-made connectors to SaaS apps: you build the tools you need
  • A younger platform than the large clouds below

Price, as of 14 October 2026: Free with $1 of usage a month; calls stop rather than bill. Pro is $29 and Team $79 a month, each with usage and AI credits included.

Cloudflare Workers

Edge developer platform with MCP support

Cloudflare runs MCP servers as Workers on its global network. The Agents SDK's createMcpHandler serves a stateless server over Streamable HTTP, and its guides show how to put sign-in in front of it with Cloudflare Access or an OAuth provider such as GitHub, Google, Auth0 or WorkOS.

STRENGTHS

  • Runs on Cloudflare's global network, close to users
  • A generous free tier: 100,000 requests a day
  • No charge for wall-clock time, only CPU time, which suits connections that sit idle
  • Mature tooling, templates and a large ecosystem

TRADE-OFFS

  • You write and maintain the server code and the OAuth wiring; the GitHub example needs OAuth apps, a cookie key and a KV namespace
  • The free plan allows 10 ms of CPU time per request
  • The MCP guides and templates are in TypeScript

Price, as of 14 October 2026: Workers Free: 100,000 requests a day and 10 ms of CPU per request. Workers Paid: from $5 a month with 10 million requests and 30 million CPU milliseconds included, then $0.30 per million requests.

Vercel

Frontend cloud with MCP support

Vercel hosts MCP servers as Vercel Functions on Fluid compute. The mcp-handler package adds an MCP route to a Next.js App Router app, served over Streamable HTTP, and Vercel's deployment tools apply to it like any other route.

STRENGTHS

  • Instant rollback, preview deployments, rolling releases and the Vercel Firewall
  • Fluid compute shares instances across bursts of calls
  • Fits naturally beside an existing Next.js app

TRADE-OFFS

  • mcp-handler verifies tokens and publishes OAuth metadata, but it does not issue tokens or run an authorization server: you provide one
  • Hobby is for personal, non-commercial use
  • Pro is billed per developer seat, plus CPU, memory and invocations

Price, as of 14 October 2026: Hobby: free, for personal non-commercial use. Pro: $20 a month per developer seat, with Fluid compute from $0.128 per hour of active CPU, $0.0106 per GB-hour of provisioned memory and $0.60 per million invocations.

FastMCP Gateway (Prefect)

Managed MCP hosting and gateway

Prefect, the company behind the open-source FastMCP framework for Python, hosts MCP servers from a GitHub repository. It builds, containerizes and deploys the server with OAuth 2.1 and dynamic client registration, deploys every push to main and gives pull requests preview environments. Prefect has called it Horizon; its pages now call it FastMCP Gateway.

STRENGTHS

  • Git-based deploys with preview environments for pull requests
  • OAuth 2.1 and dynamic client registration built in
  • Identity provider integrations over SAML, OIDC and SCIM, tool-level access control and audit logs
  • Made by the maintainers of FastMCP

TRADE-OFFS

  • Built around Python and FastMCP
  • Team and enterprise prices are not published on its pages

Price, as of 14 October 2026: Free for personal projects, with no credit card. Team and enterprise pricing is not published.

MintMCP

Enterprise MCP gateway

MintMCP is a gateway for rolling MCP out across a company. It hosts MCP servers, offers over 1,000 prebuilt connectors, and adds role-based bundles, user and agent identities, an LLM proxy, monitoring and audit logs. It runs in Mint's cloud or on your own infrastructure.

STRENGTHS

  • Over 1,000 prebuilt connectors alongside servers you host
  • Governance: role-based bundles, audit logs and monitoring
  • SSO, SAML and SCIM on its enterprise options; can be self-hosted

TRADE-OFFS

  • No published prices: per-user licensing through sales
  • Aimed at governing employee use of AI more than shipping your own tools to customers

Price, as of 14 October 2026: Custom, per-user licensing with platform fees. No public price or free plan is listed.

Railway

General container platform

Railway runs any service from a repository or container image, so an MCP server written with any SDK runs there as a long-lived process. Nothing about it is MCP-specific: the server, its sign-in and its secrets handling are yours.

STRENGTHS

  • Any language and any MCP SDK
  • Long-running and stateful servers are fine
  • Pro is priced per workspace, not per seat

TRADE-OFFS

  • You build OAuth, secrets handling and everything MCP-specific yourself
  • An always-on service is billed for the memory and CPU it holds while it runs

Price, as of 14 October 2026: Free: $1 of usage a month. Hobby: $5 a month with $5 of usage. Pro: $20 a month per workspace with $20 of usage. Beyond that, about $10 per GB of memory and $20 per vCPU a month.

Which one should you choose?

  • You want to write tools in Go, TypeScript or Python and skip building OAuth, secrets and deploysGlxymesh
  • Your team writes TypeScript, already uses Cloudflare and wants servers at the edgeCloudflare Workers
  • Your MCP server belongs inside a Next.js app you already deploy on VercelVercel
  • You write Python with FastMCP and need SSO and tool-level access controlFastMCP Gateway (Prefect)
  • You are rolling MCP out to a company's employees and need governance and connectorsMintMCP
  • You already have a server in another language and want to run it as isRailway

The deciding question is usually who runs the MCP infrastructure. On a general cloud you get full control and build sign-in, key handling and deploys yourself. On managed MCP server hosting that part is done, and you spend the time on tools. Our guide to self-hosted vs managed MCP servers goes through the trade-off in more depth.
